Banners are a great way to celebrate the seasons at your church or for a special occasion or announcement almost anywhere. Pick from the aboveor we will create a custom banner for you at almost any size you can imagine for your special event. Weddings, announcements, church services, seasons, birthdays or any event or celebration--the ideas are endless with your art or ours.

The above banners are 13" x 38" unless otherwise indicated but are available in a variety of sizes, large and small (see below).

1) Printed by the Artist on Heavy Stock, Archival Paper and Ink
Banners printed by Art from the Soul are on our archival, heavy stock, museum quality paper with archival inks.

The colors that you see on the artwork on this site can vary from monitor to monitor, in hue and value. We attempt to represent the art as close as possible to the actual pieces. If color matching is desired, we recommend that you request and approve a paper sample (legal envelope sized) or purchase a small banner as custom banners are not returnable/refundable except for defects in material and workmanship. $5 and any express shipping charges will be billed for each paper sample requested.
Overseas Banner Orders If you are overseas, we will be happy to send the artwork fully set up to your local printer upon receiving their printing requirements. This makes your shipping free.

The background of the image (and reflecting the "all ye lands" theme) was painted after being inspired by the brilliant and beautiful strata in the hills in Death Valley (awful name for a beautiful place). The creation of this set was inspired by a worship service at the First Congregational Church of Berkeley (United Church of Christ), my California home church, where there was a wonderful Sunday hymn sing. (I receive a majority of my inspiration for new pieces from going to worship and actually listening to the sermons.)

These transformation banners and stoles are appropriate for transformation themes, Easter or sermons about change. Great for spring and summer too. To miniaturize this pattern in a preview just does not do it justice! The original design was a heart interwoven in pinks and greens. The inspiration was a hymn sung bilingually, Santo, Santo, Santo Mi corazon te adora. (Holy, Holy, Holy, My heart adores you.) Use these or request other words at no additional charge.
Corazon is heart in Spanish.

What a fun challenge this was! Pastor Steve Wren of Sparks First Christian Church was preparing a series of sermons based on the "The Women of Lent." He gave me a brief description of each sermon and gave me the freedom to create. He mentioned that he envisioned shawls. I took some liberties with this assignment and created some designs that may not have been seen in the day but placed them on modest covering, mostly with traditional Jewish fringe. The designs reflect what I personally thought described the women.
Mary, Mother of Jesus: The Shawl of Separation
Mary, the Mother of Jesus talks about the separation she felt when he went missing in Jerusalem. I visualized people dressed to go to temple. This shawl captures some traditional lines that might have been seen in a Jewish shawl, including fringe.
Mary of Clopas, Mother of James, Son of Alpheus: The Shawl of Faith
Joseph’s sister shares her observation of his faith to take on the role of adoptive father. I visualized browns and burlap for a natural, rugged look of a carpenter’s sister.
Mary & Martha: The Shawl of Belief
The sisters recall the resurrection of Lazarus and Christ’s call to belief.
I used the idea of anointing and reflected it in the stoles, using the color and droplets of an anointing oil. Enlarged, you can see the individual droplets. Each shawl has a different pattern.
Mary Salome - Wife Zebedee - Mother of James & John: The Shawl of Worship
Her boys were called the “sons of thunder.” She worships Jesus, her nephew, boldly.
There was no doubt in my mind that this image had to be one of a storm. I'd like to wear this shawl myself!
Mary of Magdala: The Shawl of Transformation
Mary talks about the total turnaround in her life. I immediately knew that I was going to create a shawl with butterflies.
Joanna and Pilate’s Wife: The Shawl of Sacrifice
Joanna’s husband was the steward in Pilate’s house. She will talk about Pilate's wife’s warning. The colors purple symbolize warning. This banner can be ordered with one shawl per banner or with the two shawls together.
I chose to create two totally different shawl patterns but both in purple. Pilate's wife's shawl is more sophisticated as I'm sure she would have had the means to employ artisans in any era. There is no fringe as I made the assumption that as Pilate's wife, she was not Jewish but was a follower of Christ. This is the other shawl I'd love to wear. I started off with a somewhat symmetrical image but decided that I preferred the asymmetrical design. To create Joanna's shawl, I originally created a nebula and then swirled the paint!
The women at the empty tomb: He Lives!
Three women meet early on Sunday to talk about the preparation of Jesus’ body and are seen at the entrance to the empty tomb.
Banners can be requested individually or as a group. For the banners that have multiple shawls in them, they can be separated and printed individually if requested.
The banners were created at 2 ft. x 3 ft but can be proportionally enlarged or reduced . Note: If the 2'x3' size on paper is selected, the price is $55 for museum quality, heavy stock, archival paper and ink. Call for a quote on other sizes or materials including fabric or canvas (775-425-6821). If you purchase 7 or more of these images on paper, printed in our studios, get one banner free.Each banner can also be made into a greeting card or grouped into sets of cards.
So you have a burgundy choir robe you want to match? No problem. With Art from the Soul custom changes are not a problem. Wording changes are free and other custom changes are $30/hr. A complete remake of this stole cost the customer only $45.
Full Length Ministerial and Deacon's Stoles
and
Shorter Visitation Stoles, Choir Stoles and Graduation Stoles
The ministerial stoles shown above are ~ 106" long x 5" wide (let us know if you need it shorter) made of cotton broadcloth in a background color that will be complimentary to the image you choose. Similar, shorter graduation and choir stoles are ~ 60" long x 5" wide. Each stole is hand made. Images and artwork for the stoles are printed on broadcloth that is approximately 4 inches wide. The art is appliqued onto the stoles using transparent or matching thread. If necessary, many of the stoles can be gently washed by hand in cold water and mild soap. (Never machine wash.) They also can be ironed with a dry iron on the reverse side. Please remember that these are works of art and we recommend that you take them off before the social hour or the potluck meal after worship services.
For Deacons: Please indicate if you just want a straight stole without the neck line. Stitching will be attached at the hip line if you request it to link the two pieces. Your stole will be convertible so that all you do is snip the threads at the neck and wear it as a regular stole. Just ask for it. It is only $5 extra to make the convertible stole.
Prices
Ministerial stoles that are ~106" long are $125.00 plus shipping. Included free will be your church/denomination logo if you choose or free wording changes if words are included on one side of the stole. Expedite fees are below.
Visitation, graduation and choir stoles that are ~ 60" long are $68.00 each plus shipping.
Shipping
We normally ship via insured US Priority Mail. $12 includes packing, shipping, and insurance for a single stole anywhere in the US, $14.25 for two stoles. Customizations my increase insurance cost and rush shipping will add cost.
50% Deposit for custom stoles
If your stole has custom modifications including custom logos (free or otherwise), custom art work, custom length, custom text or custom colors, a 50% deposit will be required and will be invoiced upon approval of your draft. If for any reason we are unable to print/process your order, your deposit will be refunded.
Expedite Fees:
As our stoles have become more and more popular our turn around time also has increased. Please allow a minimum of 10 days prior to shipment . More time may be necessary during religious holidays. Expedite fees are as follows:
24 hours 100%, 2-4 days 50%, 5-7 days 25%. Sundays and federal holidays excluded.
Custom modifications Custom changes and modifications are welcome. Other than the changes listed above, custom changes and modifications are $30/hr additional. Minor modifications may be free. Stoles with custom changes (colors, text, logos, art, etc.) are not returnable/refundable.
Fabric "Name Plates" and Fringe:
Neck labels with the recipient's name or special greeting (~1" x 4") are $7.50. Black or white fringe is $7.50.

Embroidery Work
Art from the Soul has teamed up with Custom Embroidery of Reno, NV. and Joy Day of Spherical Magic, both master artists. (Visit Page 2 of Banners and Stoles.) Would you like something embroidered on a stole? Just ask for a quote. We'll even create or help you create the pattern. Please allow a minimum of two extra weeks for embroidery.

How does this all work? (AKA, the Ts and Cs)
Read about either your banner or stole below. The details are important. It isn't the standard yada, yada, yada. Call us at 775-425-6821 to discuss your order or custom needs. The owner is Julie Jones and you will probably be greeted by her. Our email is artsoul@pacbell.net. If you have a custom request, a graphically created preview will either be sent to you via e-mail or placed on a private preview page. (There are no up-front charges.) For stoles, if exact colors or fabric approvals are needed, please allow adequate time to request a fabric swatch (details below). Usually we can accommodate all rushes but you may not have time for swatches for stoles to be sent. For banners, we can usually send a free sample of the type of material you are requesting. For banners, we do our absolute best on color matching but large format banners (wider than 2' and on materials other than heavy stock paper) are printed by our printing partner in another state. They do a superior job but they are not standing next to your pews, sanctuary walls or stained glass windows. We encourage large, high quality photos for color matching banners.
For custom art and colors, you are not committed to the purchase until you approve the final draft. Once approved the custom stole or banner is not returnable or refundable except for defects in materials or workmanship. Custom changes will be billed at $30/hr only if you place the order. There is no charge for the addition of church/denomination logos or wording changes. Your are responsible for correct spelling on your preview.
