The Story Behind the Art: For the Astronomical Baker In Your Life
A little background here: My mom, Alice Rodriguez, was a phenomenal baker, and as kids, we loved all of the things that she made. In her mid-40s she began making wedding cakes. They were in demand throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. I didn't have much of an interest in baking until my grandson, Kale, came along. That baking gene finally kicked in. The elementary school and family were then graced with cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. I fell in love with this new medium, especially frosting. This in combination with space art seemed to me to be a natural progression. (At least it seemed natural to me.) Should I make other art pieces, they will be a part of "Edible Astronomy" assuming I have time. Sometimes I create art just for the fun of it.
